NVRAM

NVRAM (Non-Volatile Random-Access Memory) is a highly encrypted, dedicated memory partition on a smartphone's logic board that securely stores the device identifier (IMEI), radio frequency calibration, and baseband certificates.

Because the device identifier is locked down in this dedicated hardware layer, it cannot be accidentally deleted through standard factory resets or settings menus. If unauthorized software modifications or aggressive rooting procedures corrupt the NVRAM partition, the device will report a null baseband state, leaving it permanently unable to read SIM cards or connect to any network.
