NAND flash memory
NAND flash memory is the internal storage chip soldered to a smartphone's logic board that holds the operating system, device configurations, and user data.
In the production of fake "Frankenstein" iPhones, unscrupulous technicians apply extreme heat (roughly 400°C) to desolder the original NAND chip and replace it with a larger, counterfeit memory drive. They use specialized programmers to clone the original serial numbers to the fake chip to bypass software checks, but this thermal stress severely weakens the logic board and almost guarantees sudden failure during future iOS updates.
