MSC (Mobile Switching Center)

The Mobile Switching Center (MSC) is a core routing hub within a carrier's network that handles real-time device authentication and call routing. When a device powers on, it transmits its identity directly to the carrier's MSC.

The MSC is responsible for querying the Equipment Identity Register (EIR) upon connection. It instantly sorts the connecting hardware into white, grey, or black lists based on its IMEI validity and theft status, determining whether to grant or deny cellular service.
