The IMEISV (IMEI Software Version) is a tracking standard that replaces the traditional 15th mathematical check digit of an IMEI with a two-digit software version code. This appended code indicates the device's current baseband firmware version.
The introduction of the IMEISV standard assists telecommunication networks in tracking firmware vulnerabilities in real-time. It allows carriers to monitor outdated or compromised software versions without altering the core hardware identity of the device itself.
