IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) is a sector within the secondary electronics market focused on the secure data wiping, refurbishing, and recycling of consumer electronics on a massive commercial scale.
ITAD companies process huge wholesale batches of smartphones, making manual verification impossible. These businesses deploy automated diagnostic software and APIs to instantly bulk-check IMEI numbers, flagging invalid, blacklisted, or mathematically incorrect identifiers to prevent financial losses before international export.
