IMEI

The IMEI is a unique, 15-digit numerical code assigned to the baseband processor of every cellular device, acting as a permanent digital fingerprint for the hardware. Cellular carriers rely on this code to identify valid devices, authorize network access, and block stolen phones globally.

The structure of the IMEI reveals specific manufacturing data: the first eight digits (TAC) identify the exact model and brand, the next six digits form a unique serial number, and the final 15th digit is a mathematical checksum used to validate the entire string. It is hardcoded into the motherboard's secure memory and cannot be legally or permanently erased without destroying the device.
