eUICC
The eUICC is a secure integrated circuit chip physically soldered directly onto a smartphone's motherboard to hold digital eSIM profiles. This chip is permanently identified by its 32-digit EID number and serves as a hyper-secure digital vault for safely transmitting subscriber credentials over the air.
While the eUICC architecture allows a user to concurrently store up to eight separate digital subscriber profiles within the secure element, modem firmware policies enforces a strict limitation. It only permits one virtual profile to interface with the secondary transceiver at any given moment to prevent cellular interference.
